Approximately 66,584 tons of dune core fill and 48,578 tons of dune cover fill are being used for this project. The borrow source for this material-both dune core and dune cover-is Sorrell Pit #2 in Oyster Creek, Brazoria County, Texas. The project cost is $2,965,655, with $2,504,470 being comprised of construction costs and $461,185 for engineering tasks. 
At 2800 lbs/cu yard = approximately 82,000 cubic yards, more than 6000 loads

This sand is from Holocene Brazos 1500 to 6000 years ago, finally making it the last 5 miles to the sea!
