Regional Ground Elevation from LIDAR
Lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) is an aerial surveying technique that uses laser to create accurate maps of the surface elevation. An airborne laser emits a pulse of laser light. The light reflects off the ground and returns to a receiver in the aircraft. The travel time provides a precise measure of the elevation.
