Tidal currents measured at Galveston Bay Entrance from March 26 to April 26, 2017. Depending on the phase of the moon, there are 1 to 2 daily tidal cycles of rising flood tide followed by falling ebb tide. Tidal currents routinely attain velocities of 100 cm/sec (2.3 miles/hr).
